:: Animations ::

For 6 years, I was the Director of the final animations for a graduate-level 3D modeling and animation class at UMass Amherst. The final animation was an 8-week long intensive class project in which students were assigned various tasks based on their skills and ambition. As a result, I was able to direct to completion 11, 5-17 minute long animated stories, as well as hone my personal skills in regards to storyboarding, modeling, surfacing/texturing, animation, and post-production such as sound and special effects compositing. During and since that time, I have also used those skills to create several animated pieces for clients and have been working on an animated short that will accompany a children's book that I am writing. You can see some of these animations below.

Ewe-F-O - the first animation that I directed at UMass Amherst - About space traveling Sheep
Ewe-F-O II: Sheepgate - the much awaited sequel about BoBo and BooBoo, the interstellar sheep
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - an excerpt - and I did this before the movie came out... One of my favorites!
Monsterous Cravings - Yes, I know it's spelled wrong... on purpose. Just watch.
Snail in Comparison - Animated Short
Paranoia - This was MY class project when I took the animation class... we decided to do rotoscoping. Great idea. Not.

:: Visual Presentation of Animation ::

I was fortunate enough to participate in a grand production at UMass Amherst, where a collaboration between the art department, the music and dance department, and the computer science department formed to create a piece called "Transformations". The premise of this presentation was that

:: Animation for Interactive Application ::

One of the greatest uses of animation is in conjunction with an interactive program, either on the web, on CD or DVD-ROM, or as a standalone application. I have created numerous small animations for such purpose. These are some of those animations. You can view the interactive applications, or read more about them on the 'Interactive' page.

To Add: Part and tooling animations for UMass, Revvy animations

:: Animated Logos::

Animated logos are great for use on the web, but can be used for a variety of media. Below you will find some examples of animated logos that I have created. One such logo, the Northern Arts Entertainment logo, is in use as the splash logo at the beginning of movies produced by N.A.E., and can currently be seen at teh beginning of the Penelope Cruz movie, "Don't Move". Nice when your work is seen all over the world!

:: 3D Design ::

These are some stills from animations or 3D models that I have used in animation or as props for still imagery. The majority of these models were made in Martin Hash's Animation:Master.

Stuff from the beginnings of my 3D career:
A character design for one of the UMass animations - Y2K - Year of the Bug
Gioya - the first character I ever modeled - it was a project for a class that I was taking and TAing at the same time!
ID Slickster - My vain attempts at making a character in Infini-D
Nick's Skate Emporium - my very first 3D model/scene ever - to get into the class that i went on to teach!
